Hello everyone! I am Vrinda, and I recently joined as a Program Associate. I will be working on community events.

Proposals & Reviews

  1. Rahul add nominations to the reviewer list
  2. Shree to reach out nominated reviewers for confirmation
  3. Program Committee to do an initial round of filtering between 28th and 30th June (trivial rejects) before passing it to reviewers
  4. Reviewers get 2 weeks to respond once assigned, with the first round reviewing from 1st-12th July.
  5. We aim to have between 20- 30 CFP reviewers. The new reviewer guidelines will be shared with everyone. The 2025 guidelines are here:

  6. Ashlesh and the advocacy team to work on more outreach for devrooms.

Venue

  1. For Day 0 of IndiaFOSS (25th Sep), the program committee has decided to book NIMHANS as the venue.
  2. Foundation staff will be in Bengaluru the first week of July and are planning to visit NIMHANS to map out the venue.

Sponsorship/Fundraising

  1. Rahul to follow up with potential sponsors and leads from the Open Source Summit India
  2. Ruchika to run social media outreach for diversity scholarship fundraising

Volunteering

  1. Vrinda and Siddharth have started reviewing volunteer form responses; acceptances will be sent by 30th June

Logistics

  1. Speaker dinner being planned for 260 attendees (speakers, sponsors, industry partners, devroom managers and other volunteers). We have decided to invite up to 5 representatives from sponsors and industry partners to the dinner.
  2. Last year, someone from the community raised concerns over the quality of a hotel in the accommodation list. Therefore, the accommodation guide now will list only areas (e.g. Wilson Gardens, Jayanagar) instead of specific hotel names. We urge members to check reviews and ratings before booking a stay.
  3. For future references, we’ll likely ask community members to share their preferred stays/experiences on a forum thread.

Awards

  1. Nomination deadline is the 15th July; 11 entries received so far.
