Hello, I’m Aayush, also known as crola. I [applied](https://fossunited.org/grants/directory/crola) to FOSS United’s grants program earlier this year, and got in touch with @ansh and team last month. I will be logging summaries of work updates and milestone progress here, with more details shared on my [personal blog](https://blog.crola.dev). 25th July - 25th Aug: [blog article](https://blog.crola.dev/blog/tech/fossunited-updates/2) - I contributed to TransitRouter with my changes being merged in [PR#10](https://github.com/Vonter/transitrouter/pull/10) and [PR#12](https://github.com/Vonter/transitrouter/pull/12). - I added shapes and updated data query mechanisms in [ksrtc-gtfs](https://github.com/croyla/ksrtc-gtfs) to make this dataset more publish-ready. - I updated [amd-gtfs](https://github.com/croyla/amd-gtfs)’ generator to properly query data available, with more rigorous retry logic. This change was triggered after a resident from Ahmedabad notified me of issues in the dataset. I also added Gandhinagar services and I am working towards adding metro services if I can validate the data generated. To help with validating metro services and operations I forked an [existing tool](https://github.com/Vonter/namma-metro-navigator), available [here](https://amd-metro-navigator.blrtransit.com). - I forked a currently closed-source repo (with intent to open it in the future) to set up a GTFS-RT feed for Pune buses. This mechanism currently needs work and I am still working on it. 25th Aug - 25th Sep: [blog article](https://blog.crola.dev/blog/tech/fossunited-updates/3) - I implemented GTFS-RT based live data in TransitRouter, merged in [PR#13](https://github.com/Vonter/transitrouter/pull/13), [PR#14](https://github.com/Vonter/transitrouter/pull/14), and [PR#15](https://github.com/Vonter/transitrouter/pull/15). This also allows Delhi realtime data, published via a GTFS-RT feed on their open-data platform. - I investigated the pipeline for a potential MSRTC GTFS feed, while some data was procured, a complete feed seems unlikely given the current situation. I have published the current _incomplete_ version on [github](https://github.com/croyla/msrtc-gtfs). - I started work on the 4th milestone, adjusting GTFS datasets with realtime snapshots. Significant benefits are seen but more rigorous testing is needed before I can publish this. - I worked with Vonter to add Indian Railways [realtime gtfs data](https://transit.bengawalk.com/?operator=ir), the realtime pipeline is now a multi-agency pipeline which can support multiple agencies and feeds. - I added realtime occupancy information to Bengaluru’s feed as well. - Some old projects previously used Carto raster tiles, I moved this to OpenFreeMap vector tiles. - I’ve modified sourcing data for [bmtc-gtfs](https://github.com/Vonter/bmtc-gtfs) in a draft PR to a newer source in case the old source goes offline / becomes obsolete.
