Hi everyone,
I recently purchased an ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED with an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V (Lunar Lake). I am trying to install Linux, but I am facing major audio issues.
Hardware Details:
- Laptop: ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 258V (Lunar Lake)
- RAM: 32GB
- GPU: Integrated Intel Arc (Xe2)
- Audio: Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST)
Linux Distribution:
- Distro: (mention here – Fedora / Arch / Ubuntu etc.)
- Kernel version: (output of
uname -r) - Secure Boot: Enabled / Disabled
Problem:
- Internal speakers produce no sound
- Headphone jack not detected
- Internal microphone not detected
aplay -loutput: (paste here)dmesg | grep -i audiooutput: (paste here)
It seems related to Intel SST / SOF firmware support for Lunar Lake. I suspect the kernel or firmware may not fully support this platform yet.
Has anyone successfully enabled audio on Lunar Lake laptops?
Is there a minimum required kernel version?
Do I need to manually install sof-firmware or apply special kernel parameters?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
