Got a topic worth arguing about? Propose a panel at ChennaiFOSS 2026.
Some of the best conversations at a conference don’t happen on stage. They happen when a few sharp people sit together, disagree openly, and work through something in public. That’s what a good panel does.
ChennaiFOSS 2026 is happening on April 18th and 19th, and we’re opening up space for panel discussions. If you have a topic you care about, a question the FOSS community needs to sit with, or a debate that’s long overdue, this is your chance to bring it to the room.
Proposals close on April 8th. Reply to this thread with:
- Title of the panel
- Objective
- Brief description and key discussion points
- Format (Q&A, debate, or roundtable)
- List of potential panelists
We may reach out for a quick chat before confirming. Looking forward to seeing what’s on your mind.

Title: State of FOSS in the AI Era
In the age of AI, how can we rediscover the joy of coding while navigating the growing complexity of multi-tasking systems and numerous intelligent agents? How do we stay calm, focused, and purposeful as we continue to drive Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) forward?
This session will reflect on the evolution of FOSS - its past, its current state, and its future in an AI-driven world. It will also explore how we can preserve the core values of openness, collaboration, and creativity amid rapid technological change.
The goal of this session is to foster an engaging and thoughtful discussion around the utilization of AI potentionals from deep neural networks (DNNs) to large language models (LLMs) and edge applications and its constraints and its limitations. Together, we can explore how to move forward collaboratively, taking meaningful steps toward shaping the future of FOSS in the AI era.
