Club Introduction: CodeEX — The Student R&D Coding Sandbox at SSSIHL

Hello FOSS United Community!

I am Sai Pradyumna, President of CodeEX, the student-led programming club at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL).

We are excited to join the FOSS United community. Rather than operating like a standard campus club focused on passive tutorials, CodeEX functions as a disciplined student sandbox where we learn software engineering by building real things. Over the past 6 months, our 139 members have logged 742+ hours of structured, hands-on learning.

Open Systems We Are Actively Building:

  • The CODEEX Web Platform: A custom-coded futuristic digital incubator for our campus. It features a terminal-style UI, a custom-integrated Online Compiler Hub, and a LeetCode-style problem engine where our students can run secure system design sprints.
  • Campus Automation Portals: Building a production-grade campus Attendance Portal and a secure notification gateway infrastructure to streamline our institute’s operations.
  • Research-Driven AI Modules: Wrapping our localized deep learning pipelines (like OCR-driven medicine verification and signal processing systems) into clean, deployable microservice APIs.

We have reached out to the foundation team via email to formally apply for the FOSS Clubs Program. We want to bring authentic FOSS workflows, architecture reviews, and “UI-to-Code DevSprints” directly to our campus ecosystem.

We are eager to connect with open-source mentors, maintainers, and fellow student builders on this forum!
Warm regards,

Sai Pradyumna Thiriveedi
