ERP implementation process

  • Define Goals/Scope
  • Define Modules to be implemented
  • Work around existing objects rather than customising every thing
  • Deadline for each module/features
  • People involved in the implementation
  • Kick off call with Project champion (PC) through the plannings and execution process


  • Identify PC for all kinds of coordination
  • Daily/biweekly call (regular call)
  • A drive to upload by PC and FU developers/consultants
  • PC needs to participate in data upload/contribution to ERPNext implementation
  • Recording the demo session
  • Following up with PC if no activity has happened

Point to keep in mind: β€œDon’t assume that customer knows what is an ERP”.


Questions to ask in the kick off call:

  1. Why do need a system?
  2. What are the goals?
  3. What are you milestone?
  4. Look into the real data to understand their system.

Document for all above.
