This is a recognition program to celebrate individuals and projects that have made outstanding contributions to the digital commons ecosystem in India.

Selection Process
- We will start with a public nomination process. Self-nominations are allowed. Nominations will start next week!
- The list of nominees will be sent to an external jury (the FOSS United Foundation governing board). The GB serves as a first-level filter, helping review nominations for completeness and relevance before passing shortlists to the next stage.
- The final list of candidates will be open to community voting. We are restricting this to the FOSS United Maintainers Community.
The award ceremony will happen at the IndiaFOSS festival. Travel and Accommodation for FOSS Award winners will be covered.
