Our primary goal is to promote and educate the Pondicherry University community about the principles and benefits of FOSS. We believe that open-source software fosters collaboration, innovation, and transparency.
On September 18th we had an opportunity to host a session in our fresher’s orientation
program. And our main objective was to introduce students to the concept of FOSS and
encourage them to explore FOSS and its community. After the session, we also engaged
with the students to gather their feedback and asked them what kind of sessions they are
expecting in the future. Overall, this is a new journey for our club, where we aim to create
meaningful opportunities for students to learn, collaborate, and grow by actively engaging
with FOSS and its community.
We still have lot to do. This semester, our schedule is more packed than we expected, So lot of our plans got delayed. We are trying to host a open session for all the students in the university before the end of this month.
On February 2nd, We Conducted a workshop on pushing your first contribution with @Suslime.
We had over 113 Attendees, which was more than we expected and a higher number of students than the average number of students who attends workshop.
So We changed the Venue at the last minute, and later we realized there was no good connectivity there, which impacted a lot of students. We will ensure that will not be repeated. And we are also trying to conduct as many events as possible.
And thanks to @Suslime for helping us out and tolerating our mistakes.
