Explain the event briefly
FOSS Meet 2026 was an online introductory meetup organized by FOSS CCE for students across the college. The meetup introduced the new FOSS CCE Executive Committee 2026–27, gave an overview of the previous year’s activities and upcoming events, and introduced students to the FOSS community.
The session also included the publication of the previous FOSS Club newsletter, a technical session on how browsers work, and interactive activities including a Spin Wheel and an Easter Egg challenge.

Aryan Baburaj, S3 CSE student at Christ College of Engineering and an active FOSS member, led the main technical session. He spoke about how web browsers work, including the anatomy of a browser, and introduced the concept of Open Source and the freedom to learn, modify, and distribute software.

The meetup was well received by the students. The introduction of the new ExCom, presentation of previous and upcoming activities, technical session, newsletter publication, and interactive activities helped make the event engaging and gave students a clear idea about the FOSS community.
What could be improved? Tell us about your team’s execution and attendee response
We could improve participation by reaching out to more students across different departments. Future meetups could also include more hands-on and interactive technical activities.
