Community Calls are coming back in 2026 after a significant break in 2025. It’d be great if the Community picks up the responsibility of scheduling, running, and reporting on the Community Calls, but until we get there, at least one member of the FOSS United Foundation Staff will be present in the calls and we’ll also try to ensure that at least one member of the Governing Board will be present in the calls (cc @Bodhish_Thomas , @Bowrna_Prabhakaran , @Nemo , @Shree_Kumar , @Swastik_Baranwal ).
Community calls will happen from 7-8:30 PM on the first Monday of every month, and once more two weeks later. Attempting to vote on a datetime every single time has caused significant disruption in setting a regular schedule, which is why we would like to go with a fixed schedule for Q1 2026.
Going by the schedule, the first Community Call of 2026 is scheduled for 2026-01-06T13:30:00Z→2026-01-06T15:00:00Z. We’ll be using Jitsi for the calls - Jitsi Meet. Please add this to your calendar by hovering over the datetime link and clicking on the “Add to Calendar” (see image below)
As the first call of 2026, we would like to discuss the overall strategy that we have developed for 2026 - what should FOSS United focus on and why. @mrugesh made a great point at the community call yesterday that it’d be good to communicate a few topics that will be the focus of discussion for each community call. This might help get people interested in joining the calls and sharing their thoughts.
