FOSS United Foundation staffing updates

We (FOSS United Foundation staff) will share staffing updates at the FOSS United Foundation on this topic.

@ashlesh just joined the team as an “Advocacy and Campaign Manager” on Monday Jan 06, 2025. Ashlesh (he/they) is a digital rights activist with experience in building campaigns, and community around civil liberties online. The focus of his advocacy has been internet shutdowns, net neutrality, free speech online and surveillance. He has previously worked with the Internet Freedom Foundation (2021-2024) and has been a 2022 Internet Society’s Youth Ambassador.

This is a late announcement but @Suslime has been with us since November 2024. Hari has been an active member of the FOSS United Community, as an active organizer of the Chennai city chapter, and as a volunteer for IndiaFOSS 2024. He joins us as a “Community Fellow” to improve FOSS usage and understanding in Tamil Nadu by engaging with the local community in Tamil. This is part of a larger experiment to enable local-language FOSS communication and advocacy.

Excited to see Ashlesh’s work. If I’m not wrong other than you and Anand, Ashlesh is the first person who has joined the Foundation with 3+ prior years of Experience in the recent years.

Ahh sorry, my bad .

@Aarav_Raina joined us as a Software Developer Intern on 1 March. Aarav is a second-year CSE student from VIT, Vellore. @Venkatesh_Hariharan recommended him many months ago and I finally took the time to interview and clear Aarav. As a student, Aarav is working part-time and will be working as an intern until May 16th 2025.

Aarav is primarily working on implementing a redesign of https://endsoftwarepatents.in/. See the redesigned Quotes/Expert Opinions page.
