Tech report - Sept 2026
Hello, we’re back with yet another cycle of updates.
Here’s the September 2026 platform update. This one is almost entirely IndiaFOSS 2026.

IndiaFOSS 2026:
- Live stream: self-hosted on MediaMTX, run by Jasil and the streaming team. Also showed a live hall-wise schedule during the event. Stats thread.
- Devrooms, awards, stats all had their final edits. New log page aggregating community blog posts about the event.
- Parallel events page (indiafoss/2026/parallel): dynamic map via Protomaps + Leaflet + Carto.
- Day-one outage: Frappe Cloud compute ran out despite two mid-day bumps, traced to uncached check-in traffic from registration desks.
- Last year’s QR check-in scanner (#1147) ran completely untouched this year, performance and UI work on it is a 2027 ToDo work.
Platform highlights:

Ticket transfer overhaul (#1786, #1787): guest approval tokens, friendlier errors. RFC #1794 proposes signed tickets next.

Free ticket coupons (#1779): per-event breakdown including t-shirt inclusion per tier.

Security: continued endpoint hardening with Bruno API test coverage.

Schedule page: BOF/Invited Talk types, Markdown descriptions, mobile speaker photo fixes.

Orderless search (#1748): proposal/speaker search matches regardless of word order.

Accessibility (#1733): accessible ticket registration progress bar, closing a volunteer-reported issue. First contribution from Prakhar Pandey.

Dev setup (#1767, #1768, #1797): fully self-bootstrapping, realistic demo profiles. First contribution from S Mayur.
