Hey there folks! We, the community at FOSS Club @ SGP are more than honoured to be one of the 8 localhosts for this year’s FOSSHack. We’re psyched to see how this event goes for us, especially with the new month-long format in place :))
Tentative Schedule/Timeline:
02nd March 2026 (In-Person):
- Kickoff/Orientation
- Project showcase
- Hands-on workshop for a Git 101 & How to set up a project
- Mapathon
Participants will be reminded to join builder profiles inbetween the localhost timelines. They may also reach out to mentors anytime during the period of the hackathon.
09th March 2026 (In-Person and Online):
- 1st Weekly check-in, in-person for students from college, online (via videoconferencing) for rest.
16th March 2026 (In-Person and Online):
- 2nd Weekly check-in, in-person for students from college, online (via videoconferencing) for rest.
23rd March 2026 (In-Person and Online):
- 3rd Weekly check-in, in-person for students from college, online (via videoconferencing) for rest.
- Early call for presenting projects/contributions, if finished or almost complete before.
30th March 2026 (In-Person):
- Final Weekly check-in, presentation day.
Attendee Figures:
As of 2026-03-01T23:00:00, we have a total of 42 requests, all of whom have been accepted, and 30 of them have confirmed their attendance.
13 of the total of 42 attendees have registered from within the college, which is approximately 30% of the overall participants.
We have a squad of about 4 or 5 volunteers, including myself, who will be managing the venue.
We’ll keep updating about how the events go in this thread, hopefully within 12 to 18 hours of it happening.
