The idea of collaborating with humans thousands of kilometers away, whom I have not met IRL, probably never will – but still being able to just trust with feedback and opinions was liberating. The idea of race-less, age-less, border-less interactions was what I connected with more than the traditional “do what the boss says” more.

You can try out projects like Ente alternative to Google Photos, we are still very young compared to google, but still just a bunch of people competing with a MNC. there’s also Frappe, vaultwarden, Signal, Marpit and there are so many. you are just a single google search away.

Oh I was looking for the tool(s) where @Arjun_TK had the specific opinion of it being better than the paid alternatives.

I am asking out of academic interest and to also showcase it as examples to students in the context of this.
