I was in Hyderabad this past weekend for PyConf Hyderabad, representing SciPy India as a community partner along with @agriyakhetarpal, @rahulporuri, and others from the team.
A large part of the experience, for me, was the booth and the conversations that came out of it. Some folks stopped by because they remembered the original SciPy India conference and wanted to share that with us; others were only learning about the community now and wanted to understand how they could contribute or help.
It was also nice meeting familiar faces across the broader OSS community, attending a few talks I genuinely enjoyed, and getting some in-person
SciPy India discussions moving in a way that is often much harder to do online. That, more than anything else, is what I tend to value about events like this.
