Open-source semiconductor design

I work on open-source EDA software used for semiconductor IC design. How can FOSS UNITED platform be leveraged to spread this domain and does it actually support hardware related development with open-source ?

We have seeing increasing activity in hardware over a period of time. indiaFOSS 25 had a dedicated hardware devroom, Community booths etc

Silicon design is something that is showing up slowly… and you can be a pioneer of sorts in this community. MangaloreFOSS that’s happening in Jan 17-18 even has this as a focus area IIRC.

Thank you Shree, for your response. I will be glad to contribute, please let me know how to contribute. If it’s feasible, I will be more than happy to support.

Hey Vipul. Are you from Bengaluru ? If so watch out for Bengaluru’s monthly meetups. You could submit a talk for example, or hang out and discuss. You could post your projects here on the forum, or on our telegram group. The telegram group has a dedicated hardware topic.

There’s also another meetup group called Absurd Industries, which runs an active discord channel and monthly hardware oriented group gatherings. Many of us are involved in both FOSS United and Absurd.

Hi Shree, I am from up north, near Chandigarh. I am interested in participating in FOSS hardware initiatives, as have already worked on some semiconductor design projects using open-source EDA tools. The field is still in its early stages in India but is growing rapidly abroad.
