Please make sure you’re at the venue on time. We’re starting sharp at 9 AM — not “hackathon 9 AM,” but actual 9 AM. :wink:

  • Lunch will not be provided during the inauguration.
  • You’re welcome to arrange your own lunch.
  • There are multiple canteens across the SRM campus where you can grab a meal.
  • High tea will be served around 2:30 PM. :coffee:

Everything else remains the same — registrations close on February 28, 2026, so if you haven’t completed yours yet, this is your friendly nudge.

For those who were not able to attend yesterday’s inauguration in-person, here are the details that were discussed…

  1. Duration: Runs from March 1–31, 2026 as a month-long hybrid hackathon (mostly virtual with optional in-person events at local host venues).

  2. Eligibility: Open to Indian nationals with a valid bank account and PAN. Participants can be developers, designers, legal experts, or domain specialists.

  3. Team Size: 1–4 members per team. Solo participants must still register as a one-person team.

  4. Participation Mode: Hybrid

  5. Project Options:

    • Build a new open-source project
    • Contribute to an existing open-source project
    • Work on a partner project/problem statement

  6. Project Expectations: Build something that solves a real-world problem with practical value and meaningful scope.

  7. Not Recommended Projects: Avoid simple CRUD apps, heavy proprietary API dependencies, ML models on existing datasets, and any blockchain/web3/crypto projects.

  8. Evaluation Criteria:

    • Consistent GitHub activity during March
    • Code quality and documentation
    • Problem-solving impact and usability
    • Design/UX and project completeness

  9. Submission Requirements: GitHub repo, valid FOSS license, proper README/docs, 3-minute demo video, and proof of development timeline.

  10. Prizes: â‚ą5 lakh total prize pool, distributed across categories; winners receive payment via bank transfer with PAN for tax documentation. Specific amounts will be announced once finalised
