Propose Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions at ChennaiFOSS 2026

Want to host a Birds of a Feather sessions (or BoFs) at ChennaiFOSS 2026?

Some of the most useful conversations at a conference happen when there’s no agenda, no slides, and no designated expert. Just people who care about the same thing, in the same room, talking it through. That’s what a BoF is.

Birds of a Feather sessions at ChennaiFOSS 2026 are open, informal gatherings around a topic you bring to the table. It could be a FOSS project you’re working on, open hardware, open data, FOSS in education or government, public policy, or anything else the community should be talking about.

A few things to know:

  • Each BoF runs for 60 minutes
  • The person who proposes it serves as the moderator. If you want to participate but not moderate, mention [Moderator Required] in your proposal title
  • The moderator’s job is to keep the conversation moving, make sure everyone gets a chance to speak, and keep it on topic
  • No formal presentations. This is a discussion, not a talk

To propose a BoF, reply to this thread with your topic and a short description of what you’d like the room to talk about.

Proposals close on April 8th. ChennaiFOSS is on April 18th and 19th.

If you have a topic worth gathering people around, put it forward.
