🍿 Redis is Open Source again

For those who didn’t wake up to a chaotic HN#1 thread - Redis has switched to an AGPL license. This comes just a few months after them hiring back Antirez.

Writing open source software is too rooted in me: I rarely wrote anything else in my career. I’m too old to start now. This may be childish, but I wrote Vector Sets with a huge amount of enthusiasm exactly because I knew Redis (and my new work) was going to be open source again.

While this is welcome news, I’m not sure if the FOSS community is going to recover from trust issues. It looks like they’ve also released some new features in hopes of bringing back users that left for Valkey.
