Hello maintainers!
Over the past year, @mrugesh @khitab and me have chugged along slowly and surely to get to this.
We will be launching this formally at IndiaFOSS 2026.
A low threshold of contribution is designed so that even students can participate in this in some way - rather than being left out.
This thread from 2023 is the oldest thread where I pitched this idea. Thanks to Mrugesh and Khitab we’ve reached the current state. We are also actively discussing the logistics of collecting small payments with the FOSS United Foundation.
