Hey all, some of us at the Taksashila Institution are working on exploring different models for open-sourcing (or providing open access to) certain elements of the semiconductor fabrication and design value chain.

We are starting out with a piece with our preliminary analysis of Process Development Kits (PDKs) and how research fabs in India could potentially emulate the Australian National Fabrication Facility, or the Canadian CMC Microsystems:

Hey, I think this idea has some potential. IMO rather than pushing for something by ourselves, we should submit a proposal to the Government or orgs like Invest India (i.e. leverage their clout to make processes easier).

Our objective should be to get MSMEs interested in running factories rather than trading companies. Lmk if there are any updates or if there’s any way I can help.
