Why do I want to volunteer?

I see FOSS as an amazing opportunity to learn and contribute. Working with open-source projects has shown me how much can be achieved when people come together to share ideas and build things for everyone to use. It’s a way for me to not only grow my own skills but also help others and give back to the community. I’m excited to be part of something that promotes openness and collaboration, and I want to continue contributing to that spirit.

Previous experience

Apart from my academic experience, I’ve worked on several open-source projects such as:

Be My Chef AI – A recipe generator using AI.

Recipe-Generation-from-Food-Image – Utilizing image analysis for recipe generation.

Lift Access Control Using RFID – Using RFID technology for controlled access.

I have also organized and conducted events at my college related to FOSS and open-source development.

Availability

I can dedicate about 5-6 hours per week for volunteering activities. I am available for both online contributions and in-person events.

In-person volunteering

I am currently based in Trivandrum and can participate in local events or contribute virtually to projects.

Since you are from Trivandrum, Are you interested in building a FOSS community there? ICFOSS has offered help to build the community there since they are based of the Trivrandrum.

Let us know what do you think. Here is the guidelines to start a new city chapter of FOSS United.
