After an intense and inspiring 36 hours, FOSS Hack 2025 at Delhi Technical Campus was wrapped up! This post aims to reflect on the event, highlighting what went well, what could have been better.

The Good

  • Increased Participation: Compared to last year, there was a significant increase in the number of participants at the local host, with a total of 130 participants.
  • Efficient Registration Management: Despite an overwhelming rush at the registration desks, the registration and discipline teams worked excellently together to manage the crowd efficiently.
  • Food Quality: The food was good for the allocated budget, with no major complaints about hygiene or quality.
  • Excitement & Engagement: Participants were enthusiastic and well-behaved throughout the event.
  • Smooth Communication: Event details, including fun activities like Bingo and CTF, were communicated via the Matrix group (accessible through Telegram or Element apps), ensuring that participants remained well-informed.
  • Rewards & Recognition: Winners of various activities were rewarded with goodies, adding to the excitement.
  • Comfortable Accommodation: The rest spaces were sufficient to accommodate all participants, ensuring a comfortable overnight stay.

The Bad

  • Food Service Coordination: A communication gap between the food team and vendors led to some confusion during meal times regarding the number of plates served.
  • Sunday Lunch Discontent: A few participants did not enjoy the lunch served on Sunday.
  • Limited Serving Space: The food serving area was not large enough to accommodate all participants at once, leading to staggered meal servings, which took longer than expected.
