Announcing FOSS Hack 2025

We are excited to announce the 5th edition of FOSS Hack, moving further on our goal of evangelizing FOSS projects.

What is FOSS Hack?

FOSS Hack is a hybrid-mode hackathon organized by the FOSS United Foundation to promote the creation and use of FOSS in India. We invite developers—professionals and students—from all over India to compete for a cash prize of ₹10L by building Free and Open Source software and have fun doing it.

FOSS Hack continues its mission to encourage both students and professional developers to develop and contribute to free and open-source software. This year, FOSS Hack’s partner projects will also connect to the new program, Season of Commits, facilitating deeper contributions and engagements.

FOSSHack Sync - MoM - 15th Jan, 2025 (Localhost)

  • Each localhost can receive up to 10 t-shirts, and there are a total of 8 localhosts, so the total number of t-shirts is 80.

  • The new design stickers in black and white shades are ready.

  • Extra t-shirts can be printed at an additional cost, but please let us know in advance.

  • Shashank and V8V8V8V8 wanted to share the project details with the applicants. They suggested sending related emails to ensure that we receive more complete applications instead of random empty applications.

  • It is not possible to reject applicants from the user desk once they have been accepted.

  • We will share the details of the accepted localhost participants, but we will not do so before that.

  • We will try to include an email campaign for the localhost. However, due to the short deadline, it is challenging.

  • We aim to confirm the participants by the 20th noon or late by 21st morning.

  • We will confirm the mentors by the 15th or 16th.

  • We need at least 5 mentor applications for Kerala.

  • The audit process was briefly reviewed again.
